~ Astro-alert! When whoosh comes to shove...

Wow.  If events around you and life in general is seeming more chaotic than usual of late, there is good reason!  Actually, there are a number of astrological events happening over the next several weeks that is causing this cosmic cacophony of chaos.... first, up front and personal, Pluto is entering Capricorn tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 25th at 9:38pm EST (tho some of the calendars list the time as 10:44pm)  Pluto has been in the sign of Sagittarius for about 14 years, bringing religious extremism, concern about global warming, and more.   Now Pluto is entering Capricorn, the sign ruled by Saturn, for a bit of a sneak preview as it will retrograde (Rx) back into Sagittarius on June 14th, until it turns direct and reenters Capricorn November 26th to stay 2023.  Expect massive changes in power structures, which will not be a comfortable ride, but are needed.

Pluto is the first of several heavy planets lined up to hit the Aries axis over the next few years.  The Aries point is zero degrees of any of the cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn.  The Aries axis on the 90 degree dial consists of zero and 22.5 degrees of cardinal signs, 15 degrees of the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, and 7.5 degrees of the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces.  After Pluto hits the Aries axis tomorrow, Saturn will enter Libra on October 30, 2009, Uranus will enter Aries on May 28, 2010, and Hades will enter Cancer on August 1, 2010, at which time we will have a cardinal grand cross with Uranus at zero Aries Rx conjunct Jupiter at 3 Aries Rx in opposition to Saturn at zero Libra conjunct Mars at 1 Libra, squaring Hades at zero Cancer in opposition to Pluto at 3 Capricorn Rx.  When Uranus is in Aries, it will square Pluto in Capricorn seven times - revolution, anyone?

People often ask what to expect with the end of the Mayan calendar in December, 2012.  There will be so much change, upheaval, clearing and transformation by then, that 2012 might herald a new golden age.  I rather suspect that we will have a different understanding of and relationship to time itself by then... I'm optimistic about it.

Back to more immediate current astrological events... this Monday, January 28th, Mercury turns Rx at 23 Aquarius 50, conjunct Neptune and trine Mars almost stationary in Gemini, and well out of bounds at almost 27 degrees northern declination.   This adds more confusion and volatility to Mercury Rx (and it's been in its shadow since January 13), so please pay attention, give yourself ample time to get places and do things, try not to sign new contracts or buy or repair mechanical things, and watch for computer problems.  Then Wednesday, January 30th, Mars stations turning direct after its retrograde sojourn since last November 15th.  Mars will continue to be in its shadow til April 4th, and Mars stays out of bounds til well into April as well, but some of the agitation and aggressiveness should start to move and be released.

That still isn't all.... February brings the first pair of eclipses for the year.  The solar eclipse will be at 17 Aquarius 44 on Wednesday, February 6th (the day after 'super Tuesday', when 20 states have their primaries for the upcoming presidential election!)  This solar eclipse has the Sun and Moon conjunct Chiron, Mercury, Neptune, and asteroids Lilith (triangulations, rivalry, decisions, rejection), Atropos (endings), Orpheus (death, loss, grief, music), and Bacchus (addiction, denial).  The eclipse is very near the Aries axis, so watch for some big changes and losses.  Before the lunar eclipse on February 20th, Mercury will turn direct on February 18th, bringing some release and forward movement.  The lunar eclipse has the Moon at 1 Virgo 53 (in opposition to the Sun at 1 Pisces 53) with the Moon conjunct Saturn at 5 Virgo 25 Rx, and the eclipse on the same dial axis as Mars conjunct Hades, opposite the Galactic Center.  These are both eclipses on steroids!

There will be a lot of breakthrough as well as breakdown over this period, and it can be great for those with flexibility, mindful awareness, a sense of humor, neutrality, and stamina...

In the words of the singing group The Miserable Offenders:
These are the best of times
These are the worst of times
And it's passing
Pay attention....
Blessings to all!
